New York, NY
Education
Wartburg College, 2002-2003
University of Iowa, 2003-2006 Graduated B.A. Music
Raised in the Midwest as an only child and surrounded by many animals, Kim used painting as an outlet for expression. She worked with her elementary and middle school art teacher, Dandeena Schadle, where she fine-tuned her basic painting techniques working as a face and body painter. Color was an important part of her art and she quickly became known for her butterflies and attention to detail in their wings.
Kim attended the University of Iowa and pursued her other art of vocal music. She began volunteering in the non-profit sector doing the event production for large music shows and environmental events. Kim graduated in 2006 with a B.A. in Music. After graduation, Kim took part of the Artist in Residence Program at the Iowa Children’s Museum where she taught art activities to children and their families. She became the Executive Director for the local non-profit, Earth Expo. After a successful event, Kim relocated to New York in the fall of 2007, continuing her work with Earth Expo remotely. She now works as an account manager at a creative agency in New York City. In her spare time she enjoys playing guitar, singing, and volunteering.
